Recommend it for budget-conscious travelers
The staff welcomed me like family, especially that one time when I got lost in the vibrant lobby area. The bar had this fine selection of drinks that I wish I could've enjoyed longer, but alas, it shut down too early for my liking.
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but considering my experiences, it was still decent enough.

The location was comfortable and stunning, relatively close to Museum of New Zealand te Papa Tongarewa. The staff was well-trained, competent. Our queen room was tastefully decorated and brand-new.

All in all everything was superb, had a very very good stay with fast Wi Fi service. Got the same good value for money and well-equipped room on level 1 booked online, thoroughly enjoyed that. The breakfast was freshly cooked and fantastic, the check in was easy. The location was comfortable and handy, only 5 minutes walk to Te Aro Park. It also had private parking and was close to restaurants and bars.

It was just a perfect match for a holiday in Wellington with high value for money. I appreciated the staff's understanding of my need for a fan during the heat.

Great location
Despite expressly requesting a quiet room, a room was facing the street, without air conditioning and with old building windows, so that sleeping was out of the question. A two percent surcharge was then charged when paying by credit card. The use of the pool was not possible due to maintenance work and would only have been possible for an additional surcharge of six dollars. The room size was also felt to be no more than 9 m².

The room was cozy, and I enjoyed the complimentary mini-bar with the cute kiwi treats. Staff were helpful enough, but a bit more friendliness wouldn't hurt. The shower was great, real refreshing. The location on Cuba Street is just perfect, though I reckon it gets a bit noisy at night. Next time I'll pack earplugs!

The room, although relatively small, had two windows in contrast to Boxhill Lodge, where I moved out after a sleepless night, because rooms without windows and rooms in themselves were unacceptable. The staff here was very friendly and I was able to leave my suitcases at 7 am, which were already in my room when I officially checked in.

Compact and colorful room with a good breakfast selection. The comfy bed made for a restful night, despite the limited view and missing face cloth.

For the last minute price it was very good, but a later date would be 150% more expensive and that would be much too expensive for the quality.
Breakfast was only rudimentary, a proper breakfast would cost 22 NZD extra.

The central location on Cuba Street was a good starting point. The harbour and many restaurants were quickly accessible.
The price included a simple breakfast. An upgrade to a continental breakfast was disproportionately expensive.
